As you sink downwards to a depth of 35 meters, in the north of Mauritius, towards the golden sand the first things that catch your eye are fish – fish in every colour of the rainbow – and more! Some float lazily by: others disappear with the flick of a bright fin. Then, your attention turns to the expanse of a coral reef that stretches as far as you can see. Underwater, everything is full of colour you will observe natural corals surrounded by various types of fish, you will discover the magic of the shipwreck called “Star Hope’, as well as a huge anchor dating from the 17th century. This submarine dive has been specially designed to make sure everyone enjoys great views of the Indian Ocean from 35 metres below sea level. You will get safety training, a full explanation of the excursion and an unforgettable 40-minute underwater journey. For a fun-filled experience with nature. Each comfortable seat has its own window, so you will have uninterrupted views of the ocean bed. The submarine is piloted by an experienced captain who knows everything about the creatures of the Indian Ocean. You will be taken out to an old shipwreck, the Star Hope, where zebrafish, eels and many other species of sea life congregate.

What you will experience during this trip

Let’s start with the submarine, you’ll experience an extremely rare machine, you’ll be able to observe how the ballasts system works while descending to 35 metres of depth, once there you’ll discover the beauty of the seabed. As the submarine lands on the sandy seabed you’ll have a feeling similar to that of landing on the moon. The gradual ghost-like apparition of the Star Hope’s wreck is an amazing sight to behold. The handling of our submarines and the abilities of our expert pilots will not go unnoticed as it is impressive.

What to Bring

Bring your smile and your enthusiasm!
For the submarine, you’ll need to wear comfortable clothes that will allow you to move from one boat to another with ease. Long non-slit dresses and sari”s are not recommended. Also, to reduce the risk of slips and falls, we recommend that you wear flat-soled or sport shoes.

Additional Info

At the end of the trip, you will receive a certificate signed by the pilot to acknowledge you were 35 metres under the sea. A cool soft drink is also included. The trip lasts for two hours in total (including 35m of dive) and you will be given a thorough explanation of the day’s activities, plus all the safety precautions needed. You do not need to bring any special clothing or equipment with you – but don’t forget your camera!. Please remember, the fish and other sea life are completely wild, so we cannot guarantee what you will see on your trip. Adult Price is for Adults and Teens 12+
