Mauritius: Microlight Flight – 45 Minutes

This life-altering activity owned and operated by Bruno and Gaetan is based at the Mon Loisir Sugar Estate adjacent to Riviere du Rempart in the splendidly beautiful north-eastern region of Mauritius.

These 3-axle microlight models take to the skies with the help of Rotax 912 engines. The planes can carry two people,the pilot and a passenger and are all equipped with VHF radios and emergency parachutes to ensure safety. There are 2 microlight planes at hand so couples, friends and family members can fly side by side.

The Savannah S is one of the world’s most sold microlight planes, with over 2000 units all over the globe. Generally, it is used for purposes like flight training and other flying operations, most commonly being used for aerial photography, thanks to its large flight spectrum both at high and low speeds.

We recommend booking this activity as early as possible (upon arrival in Mauritius), in case we need to re-schedule the activity due to bad weather.
The Provider reserves the right to cancel or postpone its operations, should the weather be considered not be suitable to perform the activity in a safe condition.

Transportation to and from the meeting point but transport can be offered as a supplement

Additional Information

The owners Bruno and  are passionate about aviation and have a lot of experience in microlight flying between them. Quite interestingly, Bruno was one of the first people in Mauritius to fly a microlight plane. With more than 2000 hours of flying time, he is an expert in piloting many amphibious microlights planes.

Gaëtan along with being an aviation fan is also one of Skydive Austral Mauritius’ founders. It was his dream to fly a small aircraft over Mauritius and he has successfully achieved that with over three years of experience of microlight flying behind him.

Activity Limitations

This activity is weather dependent so always check the weather 24hrs before.
Maximum weight is 110 Kg (if close to the maximum limit, the weather conditions will need to be optimum).
Minimum age is 8 years old. Below 18 years old, one parent must be present.
The Provider has the right to refuse any person if it’s in regards to safety.
Clients must not be under the influence of alcohol or any drugs.
Clients must sign a Waiver form on arrival
The microlight plane has only 2 places, 1 for the pilot and the other for the passenger.
We have 2 microlight planes available which means that 2 persons can fly next to each other in different planes

Meeting point

Head towards the north-eastern part of Mauritius and follow the signs leading to Skydive Road in Belle Vue Maurel near Riviere du Rempart this will take you in the direction of the airfield, at the Mon Loisir Sugar Estate.
