Experience the awe-inspiring transition from day to night in the heart of the African bush on an exclusive afternoon expedition. The place where this magical journey unfolds is the Blue Canyon Private Game Reserve, a sprawling 12,500-hectare haven of biodiversity and natural beauty. This not-to-be-missed adventure, brought to you by Bushbaby Tours and Transfers, is a blend of thrilling wildlife tracking and authentic African hospitality.

Your journey begins right at your accommodation doorstep, where our guide and tracker will pick you up and escort you into the wilderness. The timing couldn’t be more perfect. As you venture in during the “Golden Hour,” the reserve bathes in a warm, magical glow that will surely take your breath away.

The excitement escalates as you go on the hunt for the Big 5 and the elusive cheetahs that call this reserve home. But it’s not all about the thrill of the chase. Our expedition also allows you to pause and appreciate the beauty around you. You’ll stop at a picturesque spot overlooking a dam, where you can unwind with traditional sundowner drinks and snacks. As the sun sets over the dam, the mirror-like water magically reflects the fiery hues of the sky, creating a spectacle that’s worth a thousand pictures.

But the adventure doesn’t stop as dusk settles. As the nocturnal sounds of the wilderness become more pronounced, you’ll be led to a beautiful clearing amidst a grove of Knobthorn trees. There, a crackling fire awaits you, casting a warm and inviting glow under the star-studded African sky. This is where you can relish a hearty bush braai, a traditional African barbecue, infused with local flavours that will tantalise your taste buds.

Your unforgettable safari evening culminates in a return transfer, leaving you with memories of a dazzling sunset, thrilling wildlife encounters, and a taste of authentic African cuisine. This is not just an expedition; it’s an immersive experience that captures the essence of the African wilderness. So, come and join us on this unique journey that combines the thrill of wildlife tracking with the warmth of African hospitality.

What to wear?

1) Even in winter, temperatures can exceed 30 degrees Celcius so we recommend comfortable cool clothing. 2) No need to purchase special neutral-coloured clothing – a normal T-shirt and shorts or jeans in winter are appropriate for a safari, but we do recommend wearing long pants for your bush dinner and closed shoes or sneakers for climbing in and out of the open safari vehicle at night. 3) Please bring a windbreaker/ jacket no matter the season as the OSV can be windy and chilly in the evenings. In winter, a scarf and beanie are definitely worth bringing. 4) We also recommend a tight-fitting hat or cap and sunglasses.
