If you’re a thrill-seeker with a love for wildlife and breathtaking scenery, a full-day shark trip to Cape Town’s Southern Peninsula should be at the top of your bucket list. This adventure-filled excursion includes a visit to Seal Island, the private Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, Cape of Good Hope, and a guided tour of Chapman’s Peak.

Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cape Town or its surroundings. Depending on your preference, you can either embark on the shark trip in the morning and follow up with a land tour in the afternoon or vice versa.

The journey to the Southern Peninsula, the heart of our shark expedition, is a mere 45-55 minutes from the bustling Cape Town city center. Here, you’ll meet our friendly crew at Apex Shark Expeditions and board the White Pointer II, a vessel equipped for an unforgettable sea adventure.

We operate with an eco-friendly approach, making your journey akin to a safari game drive on water. We aim to expose you to as much marine wildlife as possible, including a variety of shark species, whales, dolphins, and an array of sea birds.

The shark tour lasts approximately three hours, weather permitting, and the brave-hearted will have the opportunity to cage dive with the sharks. But don’t worry if you’re not up for a swim, you’ll still have an excellent view of our finned friends from the boat.

After working up an appetite, you can enjoy a meal at one of Simon’s Town’s renowned restaurants. Whether you’re craving traditional fish n’ chips at Salty Sea Dog or unique dishes at the Lighthouse Cafe, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your palate.

From Simon’s Town, we’ll take a short five-minute drive to the Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, home to the African Penguin. This protected natural environment houses about 3,000 penguins and offers an up-close encounter with these charming creatures.

Next on our itinerary is Cape Point, a World Heritage Site known for its phenomenal natural beauty and rich bio-diversity. Here, you can explore the protected Nature Reserve, home to over 250 bird species, buck, baboons, and the Cape Mountain zebra.

We’ll conclude our day with a scenic sunset drive along Chapman’s Peak, weather permitting. This winding 9km drive offers awe-inspiring views of the Atlantic Ocean and the verdant mountains.

No matter whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast, a history buff, or just a lover of nature’s beauty, our full-day shark trip promises an unforgettable experience in the heart of South Africa’s breathtaking landscapes.
