Embark on an unforgettable journey through the northern Drakensberg, an extraordinary corner of Africa where the Highveld plunges dramatically into the Lowveld, crafting some of the continent’s most unforgettable natural spectacles. Your adventure begins along the world-renowned Panorama Route, with a convenient pickup from your accommodation and a direct trip to the northernmost point of this mesmerizing path.

Prepare to be awestruck by the grandeur of the Three Rondavels – these towering peaks are reminiscent of the traditional round huts of the indigenous people, hence their name. Then, cast your gaze across the vast, green splendor of the Blyde River Canyon. As the third largest canyon on Earth and arguably the greenest, it’s a sight that truly takes your breath away.

Our journey continues south, tracing the rim of the escarpment to discover the water-carved wonders of Bourke’s Luck Potholes. These fascinating geological formations are a testament to the erosive power of water, creating a stunning natural display. Next, it’s time to soak in panoramic views from God’s Window. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Kruger National Park and Mozambique!

After all this exploration, you’ll surely have worked up an appetite. We’ll stop for a hearty lunch in a local town, giving you a chance to sample some local delicacies.

The final stop on this epic adventure is the Graskop Gorge Lift Co. Here, you will descend 51 metres into an ancient Afromontane forest in a glass-fronted elevator, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty of the forest canopy. Explore the lush forest floor via elevated walkways and suspension bridges, immersing yourself in the serene ambiance of this hidden world.

The Panorama Route offers a perfect harmony of geological marvels and tranquil nature, centered around the awe-inspiring Blyde River Canyon. And after a day filled with breathtaking sights and immersive experiences, you’ll enjoy a safe and comfortable transfer back to your accommodation.

So, if you’re ready for an adventure that showcases the very best of Africa’s natural beauty, join us on this journey through the northern Drakensberg. It’s a trip that promises to be as unforgettable as the landscapes it traverses.
