Have you ever wondered what it feels like to breathe underwater? The PADI Discover Scuba Diving Course is the perfect quick and easy introduction to the exciting world of scuba diving—and it only takes about 4 hours!
Your experience begins with a short introduction where a PADI Instructor will guide you through the basic safety rules and essential scuba skills. After this briefing, you’ll receive your PADI Discover Scuba Diving booklet and be fitted with your full diving equipment.
Next, you’ll head to the on-site swimming pool, where you’ll take your first breaths underwater in a safe and controlled environment. Here you’ll practice the key skills needed for diving and learn how easy it is to move around underwater using scuba gear.
Once you feel comfortable and confident, it’s time for the highlight of the experience—a guided ocean dive! You’ll explore the beautiful reefs of Plettenberg Bay, discovering marine life and experiencing the magic of the underwater world firsthand.
This experience is ideal for beginners and anyone curious about trying scuba diving for the first time—no previous diving experience required.
If you’d like to continue the adventure, you can upgrade to a diving package that includes multiple shore dives, shallow boat dives, and the popular seal dive during your stay in Plettenberg Bay. Your Discover Scuba Diving qualification is valid for two weeks, giving you the opportunity to enjoy several dives.
Even better, the skills you learn in the pool and your ocean dive can count toward the PADI Open Water Diver certification, should you decide to continue your scuba training.

WHERE TO MEET: Please drive straight to the Beacon Island Hotel Main Entrance. Park outside & follow our signs on the walkway to the left of the boom gate. We are INSIDE the Beacon Island Hotel complex, next to the volleyball courts. If you need any further directions please ask the security.
