Immerse yourself in the rich, enticing world of South African wine culture with our meticulously curated wine estate tour. Embark on a journey through either four of Stellenbosch’s most distinguished wine estates or a blend of farms in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. With the guidance of a private, qualified, and knowledgeable guide, you’ll travel in comfort in an air-conditioned vehicle, indulging in local delicacies, cheese and wine pairing, chocolate and wine pairing, as well as insightful cellar and vineyard tours.
Our journey kicks off at the renowned Villiera wine estate, celebrated for its award-winning Cap Classique wines. Here, our expert guide will lead you through the vineyard, regaling you with the history of wine and the nuances of vine growing. Delve into the art of winemaking with a behind-the-scenes cellar tour, followed by a comprehensive wine tasting experience. You’ll also sample other breathtaking wines paired with Biltong, a local dried cured meat.
Next, we visit the iconic Mitre’s Edge estate, known for its award-winning wines. Here, you’ll enjoy an intimate sit-down with Lola, the winemaker and owner, with each wine thoughtfully paired with a selected cheese.
Our third destination takes us through a guided drive to Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, to visit the family-run Middelvlei farm. Surrounded by sprawling vineyards, delight in a traditional South African braai (barbeque) lunch while sampling their unique wines. You’ll also get a chance to taste “wine in the making” straight from the barrel or tanks.
From Middelvlei, we venture to the exclusive Lovane estate, with its basement cellar and exceptional wines. Here, we pair exquisite wines with locally made chocolate. This off-the-beaten-track estate is a favourite among our guests.
Our final stop is the historic Annandale estate, dating back 300 years. From their vintage wines to the rustic old Cape Dutch style farmhouse and the legends that accompany this icon, it’s a firm favourite among locals.
After an enlightening day of exploring breathtaking landscapes, tasting a variety of wines, and immersing yourself in the real culture of South African wine, your Wine Lord will drop you off at your accommodation between 5 pm and 6 pm. The itinerary is subject to the wine estates’ availability on the day.

Dress comfortably as you will be going up into a couple of cellars and they have a few flights of stairs to experience the wine making processes as well as to taste directly from a barrel (subject to availability) at your lunch estate.
